Privacy policy
This policy explains the limited information the current local build can receive and what may change when the site is placed on a public host.
Last reviewed: July 17, 2026
The short version
Rainbow Rumpus does not currently offer accounts, comments, forms, a mailing list, advertising, or site analytics. The site does not set first-party cookies, and we do not sell personal information. If you email us, we receive the details you choose to send. A future web host may also keep standard security logs.
Information you give us
If you write to webmaster@rainbowrumpus.org, we receive your email address, message, and anything else you include. Please do not send passwords, payment details, government ID numbers, health records, or other sensitive information.
Basic hosting records
When the site is placed on a public web host, that host may receive technical records needed to deliver and protect the site. These records may include an IP address, browser type, requested page, date, time, and error details. The host’s own privacy terms and retention rules may apply.
Cookies and tracking
The current site does not set first-party cookies and does not include analytics, ads, account tools, or marketing trackers. It uses the Google AMP runtime to render valid AMP pages. Requests for that runtime go to Google’s CDN and are governed by Google’s terms. Rainbow Rumpus does not use an AMP analytics component.
If tracking or advertising is added later, this policy will be updated before that change is published.
External links
Articles may link to dating products, news outlets, safety resources, or other sites. Those sites set their own privacy rules. Rainbow Rumpus does not control their data practices.
How information is used
Information sent by email may be used to answer a message, review a correction, protect the site, or meet a legal duty. We do not rent or sell email messages or personal information.
When information may be shared
Information may be shared with a service provider that helps run the site or email, when the law requires it, or when needed to protect a person or the service from fraud, abuse, or a serious safety risk. Providers should receive only what they need for that task.
Retention
Email may be kept while a question, correction, safety issue, or legal need remains open. Hosting logs, if any, follow the host’s retention settings. Information that is no longer needed should be deleted or de-identified when practical.
Your choices
You may ask what personal information you sent to us, request a correction, or ask for deletion. Some records may be kept when the law requires them or when they are needed for security or dispute records. Send requests to webmaster@rainbowrumpus.org.
Because the current site does not sell personal information or use it for targeted ads, there is no sale or targeted-ad activity to turn off.
Adults only
Rainbow Rumpus is written for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child sent personal information to the site, contact us so it can be reviewed and removed.
United States audience
The site is aimed at readers in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information may be handled in the United States, where privacy rules may differ.
Policy changes
This policy may change when site features or legal duties change. The date at the top will show the latest review.
