Jordan Reyes is the managing-editor voice of Rainbow Rumpus. He checks product facts, compares trade-offs, and turns dating-app fine print into plain guidance. Jordan uses he/they pronouns. The profile image is synthetic and does not show a real public figure.
Our mission
The right app depends on the person. A large network may matter most to one reader. A smaller, identity-led space may feel better to another. Cost, location, privacy, and safety tools can change the answer too. Our job is to make those trade-offs clear, without shame, hype, fake experience, or hidden commercial pressure.
How we research
We start with the question a reader is trying to answer. We then use the same practical checks for each product:
- Check current product material. We read product pages, help centers, privacy information, pricing details, and safety resources.
- Add outside context. We review independent reporting and relevant community discussion for themes that appear more than once.
- Label community views. Another person’s story stays their story. We never present it as Jordan’s experience.
- Compare the same points. We look at audience, free access, paid limits, privacy, safety, ease of use, and likely fit.
- Date changing facts. Prices, plan names, ownership, policies, and features can change. Readers should confirm important details before joining or paying.
- State what happened. “I compared,” “I checked,” and “I found” describe editorial research. We only claim product use, a purchase, or a test when it truly happened and can be supported.
Voice
Warm, candid, specific, and inclusive. We use common words, short sentences, and enough context to make a choice feel manageable.
Perspective
We care about queer connection, product transparency, digital privacy, fair value, and safety without fear-based writing. We explain trade-offs instead of naming one winner for everyone.

What we will not do
We do not invent product use, purchases, dates, quotes, test results, credentials, or personal stories. We do not publish star ratings or say a product was tested unless real, documented testing took place.
