“Want to try out my new water slide?” asked Carlos as he walked home from school with Dillon. “My whole family thinks it’s great, except the cat. She’s terrified of water.” 

“Can't we just stay home?” Flo asked. “We're busy here.” 

“No you can't,” Mama G said. “Dregg has never had a party before, as long as I can remember. I'm not even sure he has any friends besides us. I don't want him stuck sitting there with a huge pile of food and no one to eat it with.”
