My name is Austin and I am 21 years old from Connecticut. I came out to my friends and family when I was about 18 years old and it was one of the hardest things I had to do. I don’t think coming out openly gay to your loved ones is ever easy though. I was lucky enough that my friends and family were so understanding, loving, and caring. They didn’t look at me differently because of my sexuality, they reassured me that my sexuality doesn’t define who I am. At this day and time, we all try so hard to please everyone and be someone that we’re not so that we’ll be accepted. We forget that our acceptance of who we are is more important than anyone else’s. People who do not like you for yourself don’t deserve you! I wanted to create my own website that has helpful tips and advice on being gay and coming to terms with it and being open about it to the world. We need to make this world a better place and an easier place for people to be okay with being themselves. Let’s make this life a better life for our kids, grand kids, and great grand kids.
