Daddy Too

This is my daddy.
This is my daddy, too.
Rusty is our cat.
Petunia is our cat, too.
I go to ball games with my daddies.
We go to the theater, too.
We live in a big house with a vegetable garden and a wide, green lawn.
Daddy likes to tend our vegetables.
Daddy Too likes to ride our lawn mower.
I like to play with Rusty and Petunia.
My daddies like to play, too.
Daddy lights the barbecue.
Daddy Too pushes me on the swing higher and higher.
Rusty watches a bird dig for a worm.
Petunia lies in the sun, warming her fluffy belly.
We have hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner.
We have baked beans and carrots, too.
Rusty and Petunia eat their own food, but we all eat together.
Our new neighbor waves hello from the sidewalk.
“Hello!” my daddies and I say. We all wave, too.
“Which one of you is the daddy?” she asks my daddies.
Daddy tells her, “I am the daddy.”
Daddy Too says, “And I am the daddy, too.”
“Oh my,” our neighbor says. “I guess that was a silly question.”
“That’s okay,” I tell her. “I ask silly questions, too.”
The silly question makes all of us giggle.
Then our neighbor waves good-bye.
My daddies and I wave good-bye, too.
After our happy day, my daddies tuck me into bed.
Rusty curls up beside me.
Petunia curls up, too.
“Sweet dreams,” my daddies tell me.
“Goodnight, Daddy. Goodnight Daddy Too,” I say.
I kiss both of my daddies goodnight.
I kiss Rusty and Petunia, too.
The End
